The terra firma, or Vescentia, is a large world made up of four provinces: the Arctic, the temperate, the desert, and the tropical provinces. Each province is made up of four or five biomes, which have their own unique climates. The provinces are split by an ocean in Vescentia, with the Arctic and temperate in the west; desert and tropical can be found in the east. Each given biome is massive, and roleplayers are allowed to shape the land in their threads to their desires, as long as the climate, the land, and the greenery match the correct biome.
Compromise is the central city of Vescentia, located near 50 degrees north and 10 degrees east. Here you can buy whatever items you need or want. Shops include The Labyrinth, a magic store to teach you abilities; Rey’s Emporium, selling the best companions since 1843 AN; Burt and Beard’s Forge, a forge run by badgers who craft the finest weapons; The Rusty Cauldron, a pub where you can find Koyote the Skillful, a shady crafter of potions and brews that is extremely reliable, no refunds, however; Cakes and Bakes, the top bakery in the land, and countless other small shops run by the locals. Leilani is a weaver of clothes, crafting the best of garments with her skillful paws. She can be found in the Pale Pail, a nice inn within the citadel.
Elaion is the capital of Ethona, located along 70 degrees north and 30 degrees west. In the coldest regions of Vescentia, only the people of Ethona can safely travel to and from its walls. The castle of the monarch is located within these walls. Shops and stores and set up within the city village, and it is said the best of all silks can be found within Ethona. The city itself is a glorious sight, for those who can stand the cold to visit it. They say the walls are made of pure ice and starlight, frozen in time and immortally chill. [castle description when next monarch comes to power]
Carmen remains the capital of Viravea, strategically placed at the foot of an ocean river. Located at 60 degrees south and 60 degrees west, it is a well protected city surrounded by mountains and valleys. The sovereign of this land built his castle in the depths of the city, a lovely wooden structure of smooth elegance. It was built with sixty different kinds of wood, all polished and painstakingly fitted together so it looked like a perfect miracle. The columns that lined the front of it were made of wood so dark it is nearly black, speckled with moonstones to give the illusion of the distance night sky. As you walked inwards, the roof swoops into a pointed dome with a sky light from the very tip of the palace ceiling. Spiraled all the way up are stairs, lined with books upon books. Sat quietly under this dome is a fountain, spurting clear water into a basin below. On either side are open rooms stacked with pillows and other luxuries, and beyond the fountain lobby is the rest of the castle, built of everything beautiful in this world.
Casabir’s capital is located 0 degrees, 50 degrees east, and is easily the most wild of the six capitals. Built to look like the jungle itself, it is nearly impossible to find unless you know where it is. Merchants are scarce in this region and only local markets fill the streets of Akhillion. They sell the abundant and tasty food found in Casabir, as well as fine silks and many other items. [castle description when emperor/empress comes to power]
Dereli is the capital of Agova. The arid lands make it difficult to travel to this city, located 65 degrees south and 30 degrees east. Right on the edge of a secluded river, it can easily function on its own. However, it has become the centre of trade in Vescentia. Merchants, visitors, and theives scurry through the streets underneath the watchful eye of the castle overhead. The Sultan built his palace upon pillars of stone; it is a strong fortress in the desert. [description]
Kalopsia is the underwater capital of the ocean. Located in the Sonorous Sea, it is a beautiful, hidden land. At 10 degrees south and 10 degrees east, the city is nearly in the centre of all Vescentia, and many people know nothing of its exsistance. Swarming with fish and many other underwater dwellers, it is secluded from the land above. The king/queen who ruled first built their palace of luxury and elegance, [description].
The Ethereal Island is the centre of all attention in Vescentia, the isle everyone wishes to visit once in their lives. 80 degrees north and 80 degrees east, it is said to be the resting place of the four guardians. Those said to step upon the island are blessed, returning to the mainland better off than before they went. It is a magical place, unlike anything else.
The Cynosure Mountains of the Saccharine Sea are the worldly equivelant to the Ethereal Island. The gravitational pull of the earth were disrupted in this region, and many of the islands float high above ground, tied down only by roping vines and sheer luck. Off the coasts of Viravea and Agova, they can be seen from miles away high in the clouds, and many dream of visiting them for their views. At 60 degrees south and 0 degrees, they are as close as you can get to the Ethereal Island without visiting the isle. A smaller joint of these floating islands is located off the coast of Casabir, at 0 degrees and 80 degrees east, yet they are only half the spectacle the Cynosure Mountains present.
